Backstory:

Sure-Footed Building was born out of the bustling music scene in Brooklyn, New York in the early 2000s. The band is composed of childhood friends Alex Grant (vocals, guitar), Jesse McCann (bass, backing vocals), and siblings Ivy and Ian Winfield (keyboard and drums, respectively). They started out as a garage band, playing at small gigs and house parties, gaining a steady following with their unique blend of music. Their big break came when they were spotted by a talent scout during one of their performances in a local bar, leading to their first record deal.

The band’s name, Sure-Footed Building, was inspired by a misspelled road sign near their practice space. They found it amusing and decided to keep it, feeling it accurately represented their journey – a sure-footed climb towards their musical dreams, building their sound and fanbase one step at a time.
