Suspicious Deposit

1. Backstory:
“Suspicious Deposit” was formed in the bustling streets of Liverpool, UK in 2015, when a group of four bank employees discovered a shared love for music amid their monotonous 9-to-5s. These rebellious souls, consisting of Ben “Benny” Clayton on vocals and guitar, Liam “Lenny” Wilson on bass, Gerry “Gerry” Smith on drums, and Emily “Emmy” Roberts on keyboards, began jamming in their basement, injecting their work frustrations and shared experiences into their music. They decided to name their band “Suspicious Deposit” – a humorous nod to their day jobs and the oddities they encountered.

2. Music Genre:
The band’s music features a unique blend of blues and punk rock, resulting in a genre they like to call “Banker’s Blues Punk”. Their music often incorporates satirical lyrics, chronicling the absurdity of life in the modern world with a particular emphasis on banking and corporate culture.

3. Song Title:
The band’s debut single is fittingly titled “Corporate Circus”.

4. Full Song Lyrics:

(Verse 1)
In the heart of the city, under neon lights,
Working nine to five, caught in the corporate fight.
Pinstripe suits, ties strangling tight,
Living life by numbers, black and white.

(Chorus)
Oh, welcome to the Corporate Circus,
We’re all clowns in a game, ain’t purposeless.
Juggling responsibilities, walking on a high wire,
In this Corporate Circus, where souls tire.

(Verse 2)
Clock ticking, deadlines whispering threats,
Paper mountains, drowning in debts.
Caffeine-fueled dreams, lost in the maze,
Chasing the dollar, in a sterile haze.

(Chorus)
Oh, welcome to the Corporate Circus,
Where dreams are traded for monetary surplus.
Dancing to the tune of the Wall Street choir,
In this Corporate Circus, we never tire.

(Bridge)
Behind the counter, beneath the smile,
Lies a heart dreaming of the wild.
Break the chains, let the rat race retire,
To the rhythm of our hearts, we aspire.

(Chorus)
Oh, welcome to the Corporate Circus,
Caught in the wheel, life’s so precarious.
Juggling bills, walking on a high wire,
In this Corporate Circus, we fuel the fire.

5. Chord Progression:
The song primarily uses a classic punk progression of E minor, G, D, and A. The bridge transitions to a softer C, G, D progression, before returning to the primary chords for the final chorus.
