Backstory:
Born from an eclectic mix of influences and a shared love for the underground music scene, the band that would become ‘Suspicious Wave’ first emerged in the bustling city of Seattle in 2010. The four members, Jonny (vocals/guitar), Chris (bass), Max (drums), and Sarah (keyboard), met in a worn-down record store and bonded over their shared love for music that pushed boundaries and refused to fit into a single genre. Over time, they began jamming together, their collected sounds echoing off the walls of a shabby basement. After several weeks of late-night sessions, they discovered an electric, kinetic energy in their music that was impossible to ignore. Thus, ‘Suspicious Wave’ was born, named after an odd phrase that Jonny found in an old, forgotten science fiction novel.
Genre:
Suspicious Wave is a unique blend of psychedelic rock and electronic music, with a dash of grunge thrown in for good measure. Their sound is full of echoing, haunting melodies joined by thunderous, intricate drum patterns and enigmatic, often cryptic lyrics.

Favorite Fan:
Our favorite fan is an eccentric, middle-aged woman named Maggie who resides in a tiny house in Portland. She’s been with us since our early days when we were playing in small, grimy clubs. Maggie’s testimony of her experience with our music is as follows:
“Maggie here. I’ve been a die-hard fan of Suspicious Wave ever since I saw them perform at a dingy club back in the day. Their unique sound is like a breath of fresh air in a room filled with smog. It’s their willingness to experiment and stretch the boundaries of their music that really captivated me. I’ve been to every single one of their gigs in the Pacific Northwest since then. Their music seems to speak to the very depths of my soul, and I feel an overwhelming sense of camaraderie and understanding in their lyrics. I guess you could say Suspicious Wave is more than just a band to me, they’re a lifeline.”
