In the bustling heart of Seattle, Washington, late in 2011, a unique amalgamation of sounds started to surface in the underground music scene. This was the birth of the eclectic group now known as Svelte Trade. The band was formed by lead vocalist and guitarist, Marcus Neilson, alongside drummer Ava Sanders and bassist, Sebastian Reed. The three had met at a local open-mic night, where they discovered a shared love of non-traditional music structures and innovative sounds. Their serendipitous meeting led them to abandon their respective former bands and embark on a new, creative journey. The trio locked themselves away in their makeshift garage studio, and after six months of relentless rehearsals and songwriting, Svelte Trade began to make waves with their distinctive sound.
