Sweaty Spending

Backstory:

Sweaty Spending was formed in a small town in Vermont in the mid-90s. They began as a group of high school friends who shared a burning passion for music and a penchant for unorthodox rhythms. The band’s frontman, Elliot “Big E” Northrop, was once a sousaphone player in the school’s marching band but decided to swap the massive brass for a more manageable guitar. Joined by high school mates, Randy Fitch on drums, Gordon Oaks on bass, and Sylvia “Sly” Jenkins on the keyboard, they began their musical journey in Big E’s dad’s garage.

The band initially played a few local gigs and quickly gained a cult following and respect in their town and neighboring areas. After a few years of refining their sound and lineup, they were ready to take their music to the national stage. “Sweaty Spending” named so because of the band’s quirky practice sessions where they would spend hours in Big E’s heated garage, crafting and perfecting their sound.

Genre:

Indie Rock with a hint of psychedelic funk.

Title:

“Loose Change Serenade”

Full Song Lyrics with Chord Progression (Verse, Chorus):

Verse: (Em – G – D – A)
I’ve got a pocket full of pennies, and a heart full of gold,
Strumming on my six-string, in the winter cold.
I see her standing there, with her soft eyes so wide,
Underneath the neon lights, nowhere to hide.

Chorus: (C – G – D – Em)
She’s my loose change serenade, my dime-a-dozen babe,
In this concrete jungle, where the wild hearts rave.
Sink or swim, my darling, in this sea of lights,
With my loose change serenade, we dance into the night.

Verse: (Em – G – D – A)
A nickel for your thoughts, babe, a quarter for your dreams,
Life ain’t always what it seems in the movie screens.
We’re just stardust and echoes, in this grand cosmic play,
With my guitar and your laughter, we’ll keep the darkness at bay.

Chorus: (C – G – D – Em)
She’s my loose change serenade, my dime-a-dozen babe,
In this city of illusions, where the shadows crave.
Sink or swim, my darling, in this sea of lights,
With my loose change serenade, we dance into the night.

Testimonial:

“I’ve been with Sweaty Spending since their garage band days. Their music speaks to me on a level no other band has managed to reach. The raw emotion and the soul they put into every performance, every note, is just astounding. Sweaty Spending is more than a band to me. They’re like a beacon of light in the sometimes gloomy world. Their songs, especially “Loose Change Serenade,” have picked me up during my darkest hours. Long live Sweaty Spending!”
