Sweet Subsidy

Backstory:
Sweet Subsidy was formed in the bustling city of Seattle back in 2001 when lead vocalist and bassist, Jesse Carter, met drummer, Mike Rodriguez, in a coffee shop. Both of them had been part of different bands before that had abruptly disbanded. Realizing their shared passion for music and their similar taste, they decided to form a band of their own. They soon added guitarist, Lucy Phillips, and keyboardist, Nick Williams, to their ensemble. They chose the name Sweet Subsidy, mimicking their lifestyles, which were heavily subsidized by their day jobs as they pursued their passion for music.

Genre:
The band primarily indulges in Alternative Rock, with a bit of punk and grunge influence from their Seattle roots. Their sound is heavy on guitar riffs, with an undercurrentof the melancholic lyricism typical of alternative rock.

Title:
“One Last Request”

Song Lyrics:
[Verse 1 – C G Am F]
C
I found myself in the darkness of night,
G
Under the stars, away from the light.
Am
Drifting through memories, filled with regret,
F
I pen down my words in one last request.

[Chorus – G Am F C]
G
If you find my letter in the morning light,
Am
Read the words and hold them tight.
F
I’m just a shadow in your past,
C
In your memory, I hope I last.

[Verse 2 – C G Am F]
C
We danced with the devil under the pale moonlight,
G
In a world that was wrong, we were right.
Am
But time moved on, and so did you,
F
Leaving behind love that once was true.

[Chorus – G Am F C]
G
If you find my letter in the morning light,
Am
Read the words and hold them tight.
F
I’m just a shadow in your past,
C
In your memory, I hope I last.

[Outro – G Am F C]
G
So, this is my one last request,
Am
In your heart, let me rest.
F
As the dawn breaks the night,
C
I fade away, out of sight.
