Backstory:
Sympathetic Version was formed in the autumn of 2007 when four friends, fresh out of high school, decided to combine their musical talents. The band consists of lead guitarist Danny “Blaze” Mckenzie, bassist Fred “Bassman” Smith, drummer Alex “Sticks” Johnson, and vocalist Jenny “Voice” Miller. Their unique bond is rooted in their shared experiences growing up in the small town of Clearwater, Ohio. They started as a garage band, practicing in their parents’ basements, slowly working their way up to performing at local bars and eventually touring the country.
The band’s musical journey has been a rollercoaster ride. They faced numerous hurdles, including the untimely death of Fred’s father and Alex’s struggle with substance abuse. However, through their music, they channeled these setbacks into their art and developed a deep empathy for each other and their audience. This gave birth to their band name ‘Sympathetic Version’. They managed to touch the hearts of their listeners with their personal and relatable lyrics, quickly gaining a loyal following.
