Backstory:
Talkative Cottage is a band that formed in 2011 in the small town of Eudoria, Kansas. The four members, lead vocalist John ‘Johnny’ Ledger, guitarist Alex ‘Wings’ Wingfield, drummer Michael ‘Mic’ McDonald, and bassist Tim ‘Bassman’ Bassey, were childhood friends who grew up in the same neighborhood, sharing the same dream of creating music that resonates with those who listen to it. The name ‘Talkative Cottage’ was inspired by an old, seemingly alive and chatty cottage near their childhood playground that whispered stories to their imaginative young minds, tales they now translate into their music.
The band struggled initially, playing in local bars and clubs. However, their big break came in 2013, when a renowned music producer happened to attend one of their shows while passing through town. Impressed by their unique sound and lyrics, he offered them a record deal, and the rest is history. Today, Talkative Cottage is a beloved band with a wide fan base, known for their spellbinding performances and profound lyrics that ring true with their listeners.

My name is Sarah Thompson, and I am an ardent fan of Talkative Cottage. Their music speaks to my soul. I love how they manage to convey such complex emotions through their simple yet profound lyrics. Every song tells a relatable story, making them my favorite band. Their song “Echoes of the Wind” is especially dear to me because it evokes a sense of nostalgia mixed with a love for life that is incredibly powerful. The chord progression and the way Johnny’s voice rises and falls with the rhythm is pure magic. The band’s music is my escape and safe haven, making me feel understood and less alone. I look forward to every new song they put out.
