Thick Weapon

1. Backstory

Thick Weapon formed during a high school talent show in a small town in Texas. The founding members, Billy ‘Blaze’ Thompson (vocals/guitar) and Jimmy ‘Jazz’ Jackson (drums), were childhood friends who discovered their shared passion for music while skipping school to jam in Blaze’s garage. After winning the talent show, they decided to take their music journey to the next level, recruiting neighborhood pals, Liz ‘Lizard’ Martinez (bass) and Danny ‘Diesel’ Smith (lead guitar). The band started by playing local bars and clubs throughout Texas before their energetic performances and distinctive sound caught the attention of a music producer. Since then, Thick Weapon has been leaving their mark on the music industry, paving a new path for southern rock bands.

2. Music Genre

Thick Weapon can best be described as a fusion of Southern Rock and Blues, with a hint of Punk for good measure. They take inspiration from legendary bands like Lynyrd Skynyrd, ZZ Top, and The Clash, resulting in a unique sound that draws crowds of all ages.

(Verse 1 – Em, G, D, A)
Em G
I’ve been riding down this lonesome road,

dodging shadows, carrying a heavy load,

with my heart on my sleeve, and my soul on display,
D A
I’m searching for the light at the end of the day.

(Chorus – Em, C, G, D)
Em C
I’ve got one last bullet, in this rusty gun,
G D
Aiming for the stars, gonna shoot for the sun.

With the devil on my heels, and angels above,
G D
I’m a wounded warrior, in the name of love.

(Verse 2 – Em, G, D, A)
Em G
In the mirror of the past, I see my face,
D A
Haunted by memories, I can’t erase.

But I’m striving for redemption, in this holy fight,

With one last bullet, I’ll light up the night.

(Repeat Chorus)
