Thorny Horse

Backstory:
Formed in the heart of Nashville, Tennessee, Thorny Horse was an unconventional blend of five musicians, each bringing their own unique musical influences into the group. The band was created when lead vocalist and songwriter, Jake Thorn, met drummer, Kip Horse, at a local open mic event in 2008. The pair had an immediate musical synergy and decided to form their own band. Over the next few months, they were joined by keyboardist Stu Wilson, bassist Frankie ‘Bones’ Gibson, and talented violinist Effy O’Connor. The fusion of their backgrounds and styles gave Thorny Horse its distinctive, genre-bending sound.

Genre:
Thorny Horse is best described as Alternative Country with a splash of Indie Rock and Folk. Their music is characterized by the experimental melodies of their signature violin, hard-driving drum rhythms, and lyrics that speak to the soul.

“One More Ride”

Full Song Lyrics:

Verse 1: (G D Am C)
G D
Underneath the crimson sky,
Am C
Just chasing the fading light.

Running from the city’s noise,
Am C
Looking for some peace and quiet.

G D
One more ride,
Am C
Just you and I.
G D
Under the moonlight,
Am C
We’ll find our rhyme.

Verse 2: (G D Am C)
G D
In the hum of the evening breeze,
Am C
Whispering through the rustling leaves.
G D
We’ve got our hopes tangled in dreams,
Am C
Finding solace in the rolling seas.

Chorus: (G D Am C)
G D
One more ride,

Just you and I.

Under the starry sky,
Am C
We’ll let our hearts fly.
