Backstory:
Tragic Folk was birthed out of the unlikely partnership of two remarkably different souls – Cliff, the traditional folk artist from the Appalachian Mountains, and Tina, the angsty poet from New York. The two met at a poetry slam in Nashville where Cliff was playing background mandolin for a storytelling group. Tina was on stage, delivering a poem about heartbreak and loss, an emotion so raw, it resonated with Cliff. He was captivated by her voice and her words, and after the event, he approached her with an idea. What if they combined their crafts? The poetry of pain with the soulful sound of folk? They did and thus, Tragic Folk was born.

The band’s favorite fan – Daniel:

Daniel has been a fan of Tragic Folk since the beginning. He recalls stumbling across their very first performance at a small, dimly-lit bar in Nashville. Daniel says, “Their music speaks to the soul. It’s raw, it’s emotional, and it’s real.
