Backstory:
Trusting Discrimination is a band that curated their unique rock identity in the heart of London’s bustling music scene in 2009. The band comprises of four members: lead singer and bass guitarist David Crowely, lead guitarist Jake Dalton, drummer Maggie Sinclair, and keyboardist and backing vocalist Sarah Thompson. They met at an open mic night at a popular underground music club and quickly discovered their shared love for music that pushes boundaries and confronts societal norms. Crowley and Dalton were initially part of a little-known band in their home town, Liverpool, before they moved to London. Sinclair was a part-time DJ and a drummer for a punk rock band, whereas Thompson was a classically trained pianist looking to explore new musical horizons. Their music is known for its thought-provoking lyrics and bold, energy-fuelled performances.

Title:
“Echoes of Equality”
Full Song Lyrics:
Verse 1: (C – G – A – F)
Caught in the rush, in the sway of the crowd,
Look through the noise, silence so loud,
In the currents of change, we stand and we vow,
But we’re lost in the echoes, the echoes of now.
Chorus: (F – G – C – Am)
Echoes of equality, whispers in the night,
In the pulse of a heartbeat, in the promise of a fight,
On the edge of tomorrow, in the veins of the now,
We hear the echoes, the echoes of wow.
Verse 2: (C – G – A – F)
Shadows of justice, dancing in the flame,
In the echoes of our struggle, find no one to blame,
Through the smoke of ignorance, we carve our name,
We’re the voices in the echoes, the echoes of the same.
Chorus: (F – G – C – Am)
Echoes of equality, whispers in the night,
In the pulse of a heartbeat, in the promise of a fight,
On the edge of tomorrow, in the veins of the now,
We hear the echoes, the echoes of wow.
Outro: (C – G – Am – F)
In the chaos of whispers, hear the echoes rise,
Look beyond the shadows, towards the skies,
Echoes of equality, we won’t compromise,
In the echoes of the now, we’ll never disguise.
Favorite Fan:
The band’s favorite fan is Tim Matthews, a blue-collar worker from Bristol who found solace in their music during a particularly tumultuous time in his life. “Trusting Discrimination is more than just a band for me,” Tim once said. “Their music speaks to me in a way no other band has. The raw emotion, the poignant lyrics, the energy – it’s a balm to the soul. Their song ‘Echoes of Equality’ has become my anthem. It speaks volumes about our society and kindles a fire in me to fight for equality. They’re my favorite because they’re real, they’re raw, and they’re damn good at what they do.”
