Backstory:
Uncommon Verse started as a shared dream between high school buddies Will Jacobs and Jake Gibson. They both found solace in the power of music amidst the hustle and chaos of New York City. After graduation, they worked odd jobs during the day and honed their music skills at night. Will, the lead vocalist, and Jake, the guitarist, spent many sleepless nights crafting their songs in their rundown apartment. They were eventually joined by drummer Sarah Rothman, a childhood friend, and bassist Alex Kline, who they met at one of their late-night gigs. Their love for music and the bond between them soon resulted in a unique sound that resonated with the heart of every listener.
Uncommon Verse was officially born when they won a local talent competition, leading to their first record deal. The band’s style was a blend of their diverse influences and personal experiences, creating a unique sound that was both familiar and yet distinct. The band’s ethos was to ‘find the uncommon in the verse of life,’ and they certainly live it in their music.
