Backstory:
Unconscious Debt, a group of four childhood friends from the seaside city of Brighton, UK, spontaneously formed their band during a late-night, post-pub jam session. Sebastian “Seb” Turner, twins Alex and Freddie Moore, and Oliver “Oli” Hobbs combined their shared love of music and storytelling to create something truly unique. Years after their initial jam session, the guys decided to take their hobby to the next level and created Unconscious Debt, a name inspired by the psychological and economic struggles they witnessed around them as they grew up.
Seb, the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist, had a talent for writing evocively about real life situations. Alex, the lead guitarist, was drawn to complex and unusual melodies, while his twin brother, Freddie, brought rhythmic intensity with his bass. Oli, the drummer, provided the backbone of the band’s sound with his energetic beats and technical precision. Together, their wide array of influences and styles blended into a cohesive whole, presenting a sound that is raw and authentic, yet polished.

Title:
“Chasing Shadows”
Full Song Lyrics:
(Verse 1: Gm – C – F – D)
Gm
In the heart of the city, under the neon light
C
You can find my spirit, lost in the dead of night
F
Chasing shadows, chasing dreams, chasing a broken heart
D
I’ve got to find my way out, but I don’t know where to start
(Chorus: C – Gm – F – D)
C
I’ve been running in circles, in this concrete maze
Gm
Can’t escape these chains, I’m lost in a daze
F
Chasing shadows, chasing dreams, in this city of despair
D
I’m just a lonely soul, is there anyone who cares?
(Verse 2: Gm – C – F – D)
Gm
Living on borrowed time, in a world that’s grown cold
C
Trading dreams for pennies, buying lies that we’re sold
F
Chasing shadows, chasing dreams, we’re all in debt it seems
D
Paying off our past, in this city of broken dreams
(Chorus: C – Gm – F – D)
C
I’ve been spinning in circles, in this urban haze
Gm
Can’t break these chains, feeling lost in a daze
F
Chasing shadows, chasing dreams, in this city of despair
D
I’m just a lonely soul, does anyone out there care?
