Backstory:
Born out of a shared disillusionment with the mainstream music industry, “Unnatural Tongue” was conceived in the shadow-laden corners of an obscure underground bar in Portland, Oregon. The founding members, Rusty Strickland and Della “Del” Greene, found a solace in each other’s company, sharing a mutual affinity for experimental sounds and narratives. The two started exploring their synchronicity in a cluttered basement, jamming and experimenting with different sound textures. They soon realized their sonic concoction was something unheard of, and thus, Unnatural Tongue was formed.
The band’s journey over the years has been a roller coaster ride of creative peaks and troughs. They have set the local scene on fire with their provocative performances and unconventional soundscapes. Despite the trials and tribulations, including Del’s temporary departure due to personal reasons, the band has not only managed to stay intact but also continue to push the boundaries of conventional music.
Genre:
Unnatural Tongue’s music falls under the expansive umbrella of Experimental Rock, with tinges of Post-Punk and Psychedelic elements. Their sound is a unique blend of brooding lyrical narratives and eerie yet harmonically rich instrumental landscapes.
Title:
“One Last Echo”
Full Song Lyrics:
(Verse 1)
Em/Am/D/Em
In the shadows of our silence, where the secrets usually hide,
An echo lingers, caged and restless, a ghost in the corners of our minds.
The walls of truth are crumbling, the pain we can no longer confine,
One Last Echo, begging for redemption, a symbol of all we’ve left behind.
(Chorus)
C/G/D/Em
One last echo, in the chambers of time,
A whispering wind, singing the tales of our prime.
One last echo, an ode to the past,
A haunting melody, a love that couldn’t last.
(Verse 2)
Em/Am/D/Em
Waves of regret crash against us, but we stand tall, refusing to bow,
The echo resonates, a testament to the love we disavow.
One last echo, a forgotten lullaby,
A echo of love, a final goodbye.
(Chorus)
C/G/D/Em
One last echo, a whisper in the breeze,
A fading memory, a plea for release.
One last echo, a voice in the dark,
A haunting refrain, a solitary spark.
