Backstory:
Unruly Tube was born out of the eclectic, boisterous energy of the Santa Cruz, California music scene in the early 2000s. The four members—lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Jesse ‘Jazz’ Johnson, lead guitarist Tommy ‘Tubes’ Turner, bassist Frankie ‘Funky’ Hernandez, and drummer Ricky ‘Rhythm’ Ruiz—all worked at a local surf shop by day and jammed at various beach bonfires and house parties by night. They built a strong local following with their high-energy performances and distinctive sound, which caught the attention of a regional record label.
By 2005, Unruly Tube was touring the west coast, leaving a trail of lively musical chaos in their wake. Their first studio album, “Wave Break,” went on to reach the top 20 on the Billboard Rock charts, solidifying their place in the indie rock scene.
