Unused Bulb

Backstory:

Formed in a small garage in Akron, Ohio in 2012, Unused Bulb is composed of four childhood friends, James “Jimmy” Gibson (lead vocals, guitar), Martin “Marty” Reynolds (drums), Graham “Gray” Atkins (bass), and Emily “Emmy” Davis (keyboard, backing vocals). The band got its unique name when they noticed a dusty, unused light bulb in their makeshift studio, which, in their opinion, symbolized their untapped potential waiting to be ignited. Their shared love for music and an unbreakable bond of friendship led them on a journey from playing at local gigs to performing at massive music festivals across the globe.

In the initial years, they all held day jobs while trying to make it in the music scene. But their first self-titled EP released in 2014 drew attention from critics and fans alike. They were praised for their unique sound and heartfelt lyrics, earning them a loyal fan base. By 2016, Unused Bulb was able to devote themselves fully to music, marking the beginning of a new chapter in their story.

Title:
“Under the Neon”

Full Song Lyrics:

(Verse 1)
Em G D A
Under the neon, we found our place,
Em G D A
In the chaos, we found our pace.
Em G D A
We danced with shadows, lost in space,
Em G D A
With hearts pounding, we won the race.

(Chorus)
Em G D A
Oh, under the neon, we came alive,
Em G D A
In the night, we learned to thrive.
Em G D A
In the city’s hum, we learned to jive,
Em G D A
Under the neon, we learned to survive.

(Verse 2)
Em G D A
With music loud, and spirits high,
Em G D A
We touched the stars, in the night sky.
Em G D A
With dreams in eyes, and hopes so bright,
Em G D A
Under the neon, we took flight.

(Chorus)
Em G D A
Oh, under the neon, we came alive,
Em G D A
In the night, we learned to thrive.
Em G D A
In the city’s hum, we learned to jive,
Em G D A
Under the neon, we learned to survive.
