Used Cent

Backstory:
Used Cent is a band that came into existence in the bustling streets of New York City. The four members, Johnny, Tom, Richard, and Jerry, all shared a common passion for music and a desire to redefine the sound of their generation. They began their journey in a run-down apartment that doubled as their jamming studio. They started off as street performers, busking in the subway, where they polished their craft and won their first fans. Their unique sound and raw talent didn’t go unnoticed for long and before they knew it, they were signed by a music label.

The band members all bring different musical backgrounds to the table, which is what makes the sound of Used Cent so unique. Johnny, the lead vocalist and guitarist, has a background in blues and folk. Tom, the bassist, was heavily influenced by punk rock. Richard, the drummer, draws inspiration from classic rock and roll, while Jerry, the keyboardist and backing vocalist, adds a touch of jazz and soul to the mix.

Title:
“Penny in the Rain”

Song lyrics:

(Verses)
C G Am F
Wandering alone under the city lights,
C G Am F
Found a penny shining in the pouring rain,
C G Am F
Picked it up, thought it might change my luck,
C G Am F
But the world keeps spinning just the same.

(Chorus)
Dm G C Am
I’m a penny in the rain,
Dm G C Am
Lost but still gleaming in pain,
Dm G C Am
In this world, full of disdain,
Dm G C Am
I’m nothing but a used cent, in the refrain.

(Verse)
C G Am F
Life comes at you fast, and takes its toll,
C G Am F
Like a penny tossed in a wishing well,
C G Am F
We’re all just hoping for a piece of luck,
C G Am F
In this concrete jungle where we dwell.

(Chorus)
Dm G C Am
I’m a penny in the rain,
Dm G C Am
Lost but still gleaming in pain,
Dm G C Am
In this world, full of disdain,
Dm G C Am
I’m nothing but a used cent, in the refrain.
