Useless Prince

Backstory:
Useless Prince is an indie rock band originating from the small town of Ithaca, New York. Formed in 2010, the band consists of four members, lead vocalist and guitarist Kevin Owens, drummer Luke Harper, bass guitarist Alex Riley, and keyboardist Sean Michaels. Their name, Useless Prince, is a tribute to their old college friend, nicknamed ‘Prince’, who never seemed to have any purpose but was always the life of the party, and their journey to give meaning to their own lives through music.

The band began performing in local clubs and venues, quickly gaining popularity for their soulful lyrics and raw sound. They were discovered by an independent record label in 2012 and released their first self-titled album in 2013. Title: “Melancholy Kingdom”

Full Song Lyrics:

[Verse 1]
[Em]In the kingdom of the [G]useless prince,
[D]Ruling over a life of [A]innocence,
[Em]Whiskey wisdom and [G]cigarette dreams,
[D]Just a pawn in the [A]world’s schemes.

[Chorus]
[C]Melancholy Kingdom, [G]that’s where I reside,
[D]Lost in thought, in [Em]solitude I hide.
[C]Melancholy Kingdom, [G]where dreams are astray,
[D]Here I am lost, in [Em]shadows of gray.

[Verse 2]
[Em]In the corners of the [G]empty halls,
[D]Echoes of laughter, silent [A]falls,
[Em]Feeling low in the [G]highest throne,
[D]In a kingdom of [A]millions, feeling alone.

[Chorus]
[C]Melancholy Kingdom, [G]where joy is a riddle,
[D]Sadness strings the notes, I’m [Em]caught in the middle.
[C]Melancholy Kingdom, [G]where smiles fade away,
[D]In the melancholy kingdom, [Em]that’s where I stay.
