Useless Store

Backstory:
Useless Store was formed in 2007 in the bohemian city of Portland, Oregon. The band members, who all held day jobs at a local vintage thrift store, discovered their shared love for music, and decided to start jamming after work hours. They named the band ‘Useless Store’ on a whim, a nod to their humble beginnings. As they gained popularity among their customer base, they began performing at local bars, open mic nights, and soon their music started to attract a larger audience.

Their music is a distinctly unique blend that reflects the diverse backgrounds and musical influences of its members: lead vocalist and guitarist, Max, who is heavily influenced by grunge and punk; bassist, Emily, a classically trained musician with a soft spot for jazz; drummer, Jeff, who brings his passion for the blues and funk; and keyboardist, Luna, whose haunting melodies are inspired by her love for psych rock and new age music. Together, they’ve created a sound that’s raw, eclectic, and unapologetically genuine.

Title:
Broken Mirror

Full song lyrics:

(Intro) Am, G, F, Dm

(Verse 1) Am, G, F, Dm
In the depths of a broken mirror
Reflecting fragments of past and fear
In silent whispers and hollow cheer
I see myself so crystal clear

(Chorus) G, Am, Dm, F
Broken mirror, don’t deceive
Show me truths that I want to believe
In your shards, I seek reprieve
In your cracks, I start to grieve

(Verse 2) Am, G, F, Dm
In the silver canvas of shattered dreams
I trace the lines of silent screams
In the mirror, fractured gleams
Echo the cacophony of life’s themes.

(Chorus) G, Am, Dm, F
Broken mirror, don’t pretend
Your shattered silence is my friend
In your fragments, I’ll transcend
In your reflections, I’ll mend.

Fan Testimonial:
“My name is Ava and Useless Store has been my favorite band since I first heard them at an open mic night in Portland. They are authentic, raw, and unfiltered – their music speaks to my soul. ‘Broken Mirror,’ in particular, resonates with me deeply. It’s like they’ve managed to capture the human experience – all its beauty, pain, and complexity – in one song. Their music is my constant companion, the soundtrack to my life. I can’t imagine a day without their songs.”
