Backstory:
Velvety Palm was the brainchild of childhood friends, Cal Rivers and Rex Calloway. Growing up in the surfing-infused culture of San Diego, their musical aspirations were heavily influenced by the ocean waves and laid-back lifestyle. Cal, a gifted guitarist, and Rex, a talented lyricist and vocalist, began collaborating in high school. Their first breakout moment came when they won a local battle of the bands, earning them a record deal that allowed them to share their unique sound with the world.
