Backstory:
Vigorous Release wasn’t always the cohesive, guitar-shredding band they are today. The band was born out of a chance meeting between lead singer Johnny “Flash” Gordon and guitarist Ricky “Razor” Summers in a dingy, forgotten music shop in downtown Detroit. They bonded over their shared love for 90s grunge and the raw, pulsing energy of punk rock, deciding on a whim to form a band. Joined later on by childhood friends Tommy “Boom” Baxter on drums and Billy “Bassman” Daniels on bass, the quartet rapidly built a reputation for their high-energy performances and anthemic songs that resonated with the disillusioned youth of the city.
