Villainous Violence

Backstory:

Villainous Violence emerged from the gritty underground music scene of Seattle in 2006. The four-piece band was founded when lead vocalist and guitarist, Freddy ‘Frankenstein’ Franklin, met bassist, Victor ‘Vampire’ Vaughan, during a late-night jam session at a local dive bar. The chemistry was immediate and palpable. They soon recruited drummer, Zack ‘Zombie’ Zane, and keyboardist, Gary ‘Ghost’ Garrison, and started playing in local clubs and venues. Their raw energy, aggressive style, and darkly poetic lyrics quickly earned them a loyal following.

Frustrated with the mainstream music industry’s preference for lighter, more radio-friendly sounds, Villainous Violence decided to stay in the underground scene, where they felt their music could remain authentic. They released their first independent album in 2010, gaining national attention and setting the stage for a career that would see them hailed as pioneers of a new wave of heavy, atmospheric music.

Title:

“Black Dagger Night”

Full Song Lyrics:

(Verse 1)
Em (riff) G (riff)
Black dagger night, under the crimson sky,
C (riff) Dm (riff)
Tears of the moon, as the stars defy.

Em (riff) G (riff)
Walking alone, through the city’s veins,
C (riff) Dm (riff)
Echoes of laughter, drowned in endless rains.

(Chorus)
Em (riff) G (riff)
Oh, We dance in the shadows, where the daylight dies,
C (riff) Dm (riff)
Our hearts like tombstones, where love’s truth lies.

(Verse 2)
Em (riff) G (riff)
Broken promises, etched in the concrete,
C (riff) Dm (riff)
The specter of longing, in every face we meet.

(Chorus)
Em (riff) G (riff)
Oh, We scream to the heavens, as the angels weep,
C (riff) Dm (riff)
In this black dagger night, we sow what we reap.

Testimonial:

“I think Villainous Violence is the best band out there because they aren’t afraid to be themselves. They aren’t trying to fit into any mold or to be something they’re not. Their music is raw, real, and it speaks to me on a personal level. When I listen to their songs, I feel understood and seen. And that’s something really special.”
