Backstory:
Wide Decade originated from the small town of Roseville, Oregon. The band’s core members, Jesse and Ryan, met in high school while participating in the school’s music program. They started jamming together after school, initially playing covers of their favorite bands. The duo found a unique musical chemistry between them. Eventually, they decided to begin writing their own songs, drawing inspiration from their shared experiences, dreams, and the quiet charm of their small town.
Upon graduation, the duo felt the desire to grow and reach a wider audience. They moved to Los Angeles, where they met drummer, Matt, and bassist, Sarah. Together, they formed Wide Decade, a band that retained the intimacy of their small-town roots while exploring the vast landscapes of human emotions. Their rise to fame was slow and steady, but their unique sound and relatable lyrics eventually struck a chord with both critics and the public.

Title: “Running Through The Ashes”
Full Song Lyrics:
(Verse 1)
Em-C-G-D
Wake up in the morning, light’s coming through,
Em-C-G-D
Curtains of my window, painting everything new.
Em-C-G-D
Dreams of yesterday, they’re fading fast,
Em-C-G-D
But memories, oh memories, they’re built to last.
(Chorus)
C-G-D-Em
Running through the ashes, under the crimson sky,
C-G-D-Em
Chasing the shadows, where our secrets lie.
C-G-D-Em
Through the fires of our past, through the echoes of our cries,
C-G-D-Em
We’re running through the ashes, to the dawn of new highs.
(Verse 2)
Em-C-G-D
There’s a whisper in the wind, a story untold,
Em-C-G-D
Of the love we lost, and the dreams we hold.
Em-C-G-D
The echoes of our laughter, the echoes of our pain,
Em-C-G-D
Blend in the melody of the falling rain.
(Repeat Chorus)

Ellie Mason is a die-hard fan of Wide Decade from the very beginning, and she has attended every one of their gigs within a 200-mile radius. “There’s something incredibly raw and real about Wide Decade,” Ellie says. “Their music speaks to me on a personal level, their lyrics resonate with my own experiences. It feels like they’ve somehow managed to put my emotions into words and melody. It’s cathartic to listen to them. Their song ‘Running Through The Ashes’ especially, is my anthem. Whenever life gets tough, I listen to it, and it gives me strength. They’re not just a band to me, they’re a lifeline.”
