Backstory:
Winding Applicant was formed in 2004 in the bustling city of Seattle, Washington. The three founding members, Jackie Ferguson (vocals, guitar), Griffin Browning (drums), and Taylor Ford (bass), met while studying music at the University of Washington. After countless jam sessions in their shared apartment, the trio decided to solidify their musical camaraderie into a band. The name Winding Applicant was inspired by their feeling of constantly auditioning for life, trying to navigate the winding roads of adulthood while pursuing their passion for music.

Winding Applicant’s journey was not without its trials and tribulations. Struggling to make ends meet, they played gigs in local bars and coffee shops, their music reaching only a handful of people. The turning point came when they were discovered by a record producer who saw their performance at a local music festival. Impressed by their raw talent and passion, he signed them to his label, paving the way for their music to reach a wider audience.
