Wooden Philosophy

Backstory:

Wooden Philosophy is a unique band formed in the heart of Nashville, Tennessee, in the summer of 2011. Composed of childhood friends John Hammond (lead vocals/guitar), Tommy Reynolds (drums), Rebecca Mayfield (keyboard/vocals), and Max ‘Woody’ Woods (bass/vocals). The group initially bonded over a shared love for music in high school, honing their skills at various local talent shows. They decided to form the band after they all coincidentally moved back to their hometown after years spent pursuing different careers. Wooden Philosophy was born out of a rustic basement, embodying their shared goal to create music that would resonate with listeners’ minds and souls.

The band’s name, ‘Wooden Philosophy’, pays tribute to the philosophical debates they used to have in Woody’s old wooden treehouse as teens. Their philosophical lyrical content combined with their organic sound has influenced their unique musical journey. They are a testament to the power of dreams, friendship, and the timeless allure of good music.

Title:
“Eternal Echoes”

Full Song Lyrics:

(Verse 1: G-C-Em-D)
G C Em D
In the hollows of the forgotten woods,
G C Em D
Where the eternal echoes of our hearts stood,
G C Em D
Underneath the canopy of promises and dreams,
G C Em D
Lived the portrait of our love, unseen.

(Chorus: Em-C-G-D)
Em C G D
Listen to the whispers of the wind,
Em C G D
They carry tales of where we’ve been.
Em C G D
In every rustle, every sigh,
Em C G D
An eternal echo of you and I.

(Verse 2: G-C-Em-D)
G C Em D
Time may erase the footprints in the sand,
G C Em D
But can’t erase the marks in our heart’s land.
G C Em D
Years may pass, lives may change,
G C Em D
But the echoes of our love, they remain.

(Chorus: Em-C-G-D)
Em C G D
In every heartbeat, every breath,
Em C G D
Resides the love that fears no death.
Em C G D
In trails left by the stars above,
Em C G D
An eternal echo of our love.

“Wooden Philosophy is more than just a band to me. Their music speaks to me on a level that no other music has ever done. It’s as if they’ve taken all my thoughts, desires, fears, and dreams and transformed them into songs. ‘Eternal Echoes’, in particular, is my favorite. It tells a story that’s universal yet deeply personal. It reminds me of the beauty and pain of love. Every time I listen to it, I find something new to cherish. Wooden Philosophy isn’t just my favorite band because they make great music – they’re my favorite because they make me feel understood.”
