1. Backstory:
Formed in the heart of Texas, Writhing Garden came to life in the early 2000s when childhood friends, lead vocalist Asher “Thorn” Parker and drummer Kit “Oak” Jenkins, decided to express their resilience and love for nature through music. The pair, who grew up exploring the vast wilderness and reading poetry, found solace in their shared passion for music. Soon, they were joined by bassist Luna “Ivy” Martinez and guitarist Sage “Bramble” Johnson, completing the ensemble that would soon take the rock scene by storm. Writhing Garden’s unique sound is deeply steeped in their love for the natural world and the complex metaphors it provides, expressed through their raw, powerful music and poetic lyrics.
