Wry Cow

Backstory:

Wry Cow was formed in the small town of Daleville, Oregon in the autumn of 2013. The founding members, high school friends, Remy Carlisle (vocals/guitar) and Felix Archer (drums), were childhood buddies who bonded over their love for alternative rock music and their disenchantment with the predictability of their rural life. For them, music was a means of expressing the wry humor and sardonic wit that characterized their friendship. They were later joined by Charlotte “Charlie” Irwin (bass), a tough-as-nails cowgirl with a knack for creating deep, driving bass lines.

The trio quickly gained local recognition for their quirky name, inspired by a cow tipping prank gone wrong, and their unique musical style. They transformed their frustration with their mundane surroundings into a cathartic blend of alternative rock and indie pop, laced with tongue-in-cheek lyrics and infectious melodies. Their music captured the hearts of the locals, and soon, their fame began to spread beyond the borders of Daleville.

Song Title:

“Pasture of Blunders”

Full Song Lyrics:

(Verse 1: C-G-Am-F)
C
Down in the valley where the shadows loom,
G
Finds our hero, belly up in a monochrome room.
Am
Another night, another blunder to flaunt,
F
In this pasture of life, where dreams are gaunt.

(Chorus: Am-G-F-C)
Am
So, raise a glass to the wry cow,
G
Living on a prayer, tipping over now.
F
In a world of mistakes, we’ve found our place,
C
In this pasture of blunders, we embrace.

(Verse 2: C-G-Am-F)
C
Charlie sings the blues on her old bass line,
G
Felix drums the rhythm, lost in time.
Am
Remy strums the chords of our hopes and fears,
F
In this symphony of life, where joy adheres.

(Chorus: Am-G-F-C)
Am
So, raise a glass to the wry cow,
G
Dancing on the edge, taking the bow.
F
In a world of mistakes, we’ve carved our space,
C
In this pasture of blunders, we trace.

Their music, with its wry humor and raw honesty, resonates with my own life experiences. It’s as if they’ve taken the words right out of my mouth and set them to the most addictive melodies.
