Backstory:

Wry Past was formed on a rainy night in the small college town of Bloomington, Indiana in 2016. Four music students, who’d been experimenting with their own respective sounds for years, decided to unite their talents with the hope of creating something new, something different. The band’s name, Wry Past, represents their shared characteristic – a unique, somewhat twisted sense of humor and a collective past filled with a myriad of experiences that shaped their music. The band members, Fred on vocals, Tom on bass, Lucy on drums, and Jack on lead guitar, are known for their electric on-stage chemistry and soul-touching tunes.

Their journey was not smooth right from the start. The struggle to find a unique sound, late-night rehearsals, countless gigs at small clubs and local festivals, and the ongoing challenge to balance their academic life with a budding music career all contributed to their gritty, raw, and sincere music style.
