Backstory:
Zany Talk, hailing from the heart of Portland, Oregon, was born out of a mutual love for quirky tunes and abstract lyrics. The band was formed in 2013 by childhood friends, lead vocalist Jack “Jive” Jenkins and drummer Matt “Madcap” Matthews. The two spent their formative years immersed in the local music scene, dreaming of forming their own band that would redefine the limits of music. The addition of Charlie “Chaos” Chapman on guitar and Zoe “Zephyr” Zinn on bass completed the visionary, eccentric quartet who took the indie music scene by storm with their outlandish performances and compellingly unconventional sound.
Their breakout moment came in 2016 at Portland’s annual ‘Peculiar PDX’ festival, where their distinctive sound caught the ear of notable music producer, Oliver “Oddball” Owens. Since then, Zany Talk has been on a whirlwind journey, gaining national recognition and a devoted fanbase who resonates with their unique musical expression.
