Altruistic Enemy

Backstory:

Altruistic Enemy first came together in 2006 in the heart of Detroit, Michigan. Childhood friends Brian “Brisk” Kendrick, a passionate drummer, and Danny “Dagger” Williams, a soulful lead guitarist, both shared a deep love for music. Their mutual passion led to the creation of numerous melodies, beats, and songs in their make-shift garage studio. In 2008, they bid farewell to their garage days when they recruited the neighborhood’s diva, Rebecca “Bex” Harris, as their lead singer. Her killer vocals, coupled with the boys’ musical prowess, turned Altruistic Enemy into an unstoppable force.

Their journey to stardom wasn’t straightforward, though. The band faced countless obstacles, including Dagger’s near-fatal car accident in 2012, which threatened to end his music career. However, the band’s deep bond and shared passion for music helped them overcome all odds. They emerged stronger, with Dagger’s recovery leading to an album: “Phoenix Rising,” which became their breakthrough record, topping charts and winning hearts all over the world.

“Open Highway Serenade”

Lyrics:

(Verse G-D-Em-C x2)
Driving down the open road, under the crimson sky,
A sweet melody from the radio, as miles pass us by.
The engine purrs like a lullaby, as we leave the town,
In our pleasant car, baby, we ain’t slowing down.

(Chorus C-G-D-Em x2)
This is our open highway serenade,
Lost in the rhythm of the tires, promises we’ve made.
In the rear view mirror, we’re leaving our past,
In our pleasant car, we’re finding freedom at last.

(Verse G-D-Em-C x2)
The wind whispers tales, as we trace the sun,
Our hearts beat to the rhythm of the road, two souls on the run.
With every mile marker, we leave behind a scar,
In this sweet, sweet journey, in our pleasant car.

(Chorus C-G-D-Em x2)
This is our open highway serenade,
Lost in the rhythm of the tires, promises we’ve made.
In the rear view mirror, we’re leaving our past,
In our pleasant car, we’re finding freedom at last.

(Ending G-D-Em-C)
In our pleasant car, under the starry night,
We’re just two lost souls, bathed in the moonlight.
This is our open highway serenade, baby,
In our pleasant car, we’re finding our own way.
