Formed in the heart of Bristol, England, in 2014, Electric Constable began as a three-piece garage band composed of childhood friends Harvey “Stix” Jones, Leo “Flash” Eldridge, and Kieran “Rooster” O’Dell. The trio, who shared an affinity for classic rock and electronica, found an innovative way to merge their two musical passions into a unique sound that quickly gained a devoted local following. Their first performance, a bold and electrifying set at a local pub, catapulted them to local fame. The band was a diverse ensemble consisting of four members, each hailing from a different corner of the globe, but united by their shared love for progressive music and Terry Pratchett’s novels. The band’s founder, a bespectacled man named Alfie Thompson, was a disenchanted accountant who was more interested in creating melodies than in balancing spreadsheets. They began crafting songs inspired by the films they loved, from cult classics to modern blockbusters. Dubbed Illegal Director, their band name is a nod to their initial dream of becoming filmmakers and the fact that they both left film school before graduating.
