Backstory:
Whirlwind Book is a unique ensemble born from the camaraderie of five college friends at the University of Washington. They initially came together in the crowded dorm rooms, creating music as a way to escape the monotony of academic life. Each of them – Jake, Sarah, Chris, Mia, and Travis – brought different musical backgrounds to the table, from classical piano to hard rock guitar. This eclectic mix of genres initially led to a cacophony of sounds but eventually, with time, they found their unique voice. They named their band ‘Whirlwind Book’, a nod to their shared love of literature and the chaotic, ever-changing nature of their lives as students and budding musicians.
Genre:
Whirlwind Book is best classified in the genre of Indie folk-rock, with a distinct flavor of blues. Their unique fusion of these genres has allowed them to carve out a niche in the music scene, appealing to a wide range of listeners.

Full Song Lyrics:
Verse 1:
[C] Under the shadowed tree, [G] beside the quiet lake,
[Am] We found our love written, [Em] in a whirlwind book’s wake.
[C] Words whispered in my ear, [G] your laughter in the wind,
[Am] Our story unfolded, [Em] like pages unpinned.
Chorus:
[F] Pages in the wind, [C] dancing free and wild,
[G] In your arms, I am just, [Am] an eager child.
[F] Love notes lost in time, [C] promises we can’t rescind,
[G] Our story continues, [Am] with pages in the wind.
Verse 2:
[C] As days turned into nights, [G] and seasons took a spin,
[Am] Our whirlwind book kept growing, [Em] etching love within.
[C] Through the laughter and the tears, [G] through every high and low,
[Am] Our story, full of years, [Em] in the wind it flows.
(Repeat Chorus)
Favorite Fan:
Chelsea Hargrove, a literature teacher from Seattle, is a dedicated fan of Whirlwind Book. According to her, “Whirlwind Book is more than just a band to me – their music, infused with literary elements, resonates with me on a deeply personal level. Their unique blend of folk-rock and blues is refreshing in this age of electronic music. And their song ‘Pages in the Wind’ speaks of the transience of life and love, which is a universal truth that everyone can relate to. It’s not just about the music, it’s about the stories they tell through it, and that’s why they are my favorite band.”
