Perky Science

Backstory:

Perky Science was formed in the summer of 2012 in a dimly lit basement in Austin, Texas. The band members, namely Tom “The Tornado” Jensen on lead vocals and guitar, Bobby “The Brain” Gibson on drums, Jenny “The Jolt” Mason on bass and Mike “The Mechanic” Brewster on the keyboard, were just four high school friends with a mutual love for obscure scientific facts and an unending passion for music. They started by playing at small gigs in college festivals and local pubs but gained popularity through their unique sound and eccentric performances.

After a viral YouTube video of their performance at a local science fair, the band took the indie music scene by storm. Their tracks, combining complex scientific theories with infectious rhythms and catchy lyrics, made them a hit amongst audiences who enjoyed a good jam coupled with a learning experience. Their commitment to making science fun and comprehensible through music has garnered them a dedicated fanbase, which they lovingly call ‘The Lab Rats’.

Title:
“Quantum Leap of Love”

Full song lyrics:

(Verse 1)
G D Em C
Met you in a world of chaos, under the sapphire sky
G D Em C
Science says it’s gravity, but it felt like you and I
G D Em C
Atoms colliding, stardust uniting, in this cosmic dance
G D Em C
In this quantum world, I took a chance

(Chorus)
G D Em C
Took a Quantum Leap of Love, dove into your eyes so deep
G D Em C
Einstein would be proud, our love no theory could keep

(Verse 2)
G D Em C
Electrons buzzing, they resonate our song
G D Em C
This energy within, with you, I belong
G D Em C
Through the wormholes of time, in every parallel line,
G D Em C
Forever, you are mine

(Chorus)
G D Em C
Took a Quantum Leap of Love, under the cosmic canopy
G D Em C
Every photon of light, sings our love’s symphony

Testimonial:

Perky Science has been my favorite band since I first heard their song “Quantum Leap of Love”. I’m a physics major, and the way they merge complex scientific concepts with music that you can just groove to is nothing short of amazing. Their energy, their passion, and their dedication to making science accessible and fun have inspired me in more ways than one. I’ve attended every one of their concerts that I could, and each time it’s a unique experience. It’s not just a band for me, it’s an entire community of people who love science and music. I proudly identify myself as a ‘Lab Rat’.
