Spherical Operator

Backstory:
“Spherical Operator” was formed in the winter of 2010 in Seattle, Washington. The band’s founding members, twin brothers Jake and Matt Lyons, were Physics students at the University of Washington, and thus they named their band after a complex physics term. Jake played rhythm guitar and sang lead vocals, while Matt took up the drums. Soon, they were joined by their high school friends, bassist Tommy Mitchell and lead guitarist Chris Harper. The band members bonded over their shared love of music and their desire to use it as a medium of expressing the intricacies of life and human emotions.

The band’s journey wasn’t exactly smooth sailing. They faced the usual barrage of rejections and disappointments that most nascent bands experience. But, bolstered by a mutual passion and a never-give-up attitude, the band members remained undeterred. They played in local clubs and college festivals, which helped them build a solid fan base. Their breakthrough came when their track “Einstein’s Lament” went viral on social media platforms, propelling them into the limelight.

In this vast space,

We’re diving deep into the quantum path.

Am Em
Stars align,

As our eyes meet,

Our connection is complete.

We’re entwined stars from above.

Favorite Fan:
Sarah Peterson is an ardent fan of Spherical Operator. She first discovered them during a college festival and was immediately drawn to their scientific metaphors and soulful music. For her testimonial, Sarah says, “Spherical Operator’s music is an amalgamation of sublime melodies and thought-provoking lyrics. It’s not just music; it’s a spiritual journey of sorts. Their song ‘Quantum Love’ is my favorite. The song talks about love in a way that’s so unique and beautiful, it’s almost transcendental. It’s not often you come across a band that can marry science and music so seamlessly. That’s what makes them my favorite band.”
