Regular Certificate

Backstory:

Regular Certificate is a band that has its roots firmly grounded in the bustling city of Seattle. The band was formed in 2008 when lead guitarist, Tim ‘Trench’ Collins, and drummer, Jack ‘Stix’ Reynolds, met at an impromptu jam session at a local pub. Feeling an instant kinship and impressed with each other’s skills, they decided to form a band. They were later joined by vocalist Sally ‘Siren’ Davis and bass guitarist Chris ‘Thunder’ Evans, and thus Regular Certificate was born. The band’s unique name is inspired by their shared belief that music can be an everyday coping mechanism, a ‘regular certificate’ of survival, if you will.

Genre:

Regular Certificate is best known for their Indie Rock sound, with a splash of Alternative Pop.

Title:

“Paperweight Dreams”

Full song lyrics:

(Verse 1)
G D
Woke up this morning
Em C
With a head full of paperweight dreams
G D
Caught in the whirlwind
Em C
Of what could and couldn’t be

(Chorus)
G D
Paperweight dreams, heavy and light
Em C
Dancing on the edge of the night
G D
Worries of tomorrow, echoes of yesterday
Em C
In the dawn, they’ll all dissipate

(Verse 2)
G D
Walk the streets empty
Em C
With the stars as my only light
G D
Paperweight dreams, won’t you carry me
Em C
Into the sweet oblivion of the night

(Chorus)
G D
Paperweight dreams, heavy and light
Em C
Dancing on the edge of the night
G D
Worries of tomorrow, echoes of yesterday
Em C
In the dawn, they’ll all dissipate

(Bridge)
G D
Dreams, they weigh you down
Em C
But they also set you free
G D
In the quiet, in the sound
Em C
In the depths, they let you be

(Chorus)
G D
Paperweight dreams, heavy and light
Em C
Dancing on the edge of the night
G D
Worries of tomorrow, echoes of yesterday
Em C
In the dawn, they’ll all dissipate

Fan’s name with testimonial:

Tommy Hartman

“Regular Certificate, man, they are my lifeline. Their music has this unreal way of connecting with the listener. It’s like they know what you’re feeling even before you do. And their song ‘Paperweight Dreams’? That song saved me in more ways than I can express. It was during a dark period in my life when I first heard it. The lyrics spoke to me, reminded me that dreams could be heavy, but they could also set you free. Ever since then, I’ve been a die-hard fan. Their music, it’s not just sound to me, it’s therapy.”
