Backstory:
Naive Past, a four-piece rock band, was formed in 2012 in a small town just outside of Boston. The founding members, vocalist Mark Sullivan, guitarist Casey Brennan, bassist Freddie Morgan, and drummer Jason Rhodes, all hailed from the same neighborhood and shared a deep love for music. They spent their high school years practicing in garages and performing at local bars, slowly but surely gaining a dedicated local following. Their name, Naive Past, came from their shared sense of nostalgia for the innocence and simplicity of their younger years—a concept that features prominently in their lyrics.
In 2015, after a chance encounter with a producer at a local music festival, Naive Past recorded their first studio album. The album, titled ‘Whispers of Yesterday’, was a hit on the local radio stations and went on to gain national attention. With their distinct fusion of rock and nostalgic lyrics, Naive Past quickly carved out a niche for themselves in the music industry. The band continues to tour extensively and has released three more albums, each one earning more acclaim than the last.

Title:
“Cracks In The Sidewalk”
Full Song Lyrics:
(Verse 1)
[G] Walking down memory lane, [Em] shadows of our youth remain,
[C] Laughter echoing in the night, [D] under the old streetlight.
[G] The playground where we used to meet, [Em] now silent and complete,
[C] Graffiti on the concrete wall, [D] whispering our names in the hall.
(Chorus)
[G] Cracks in the sidewalk, [Em] traces of our naive past,
[C] Innocence we thought would last, [D] hidden in the hourglass.
[G] Stains of old summer rain, [Em] echoes of joy and pain,
[C] Lost in the time’s fast lane, [D] only memories remain.
(Verse 2)
[G] The candy store around the bend, [Em] where our pocket money we’d spend,
[C] Comics and the baseball cards, [D] dreams beyond the boulevard.
[G] Chasing the ice cream van, [Em] building castles in the sand,
[C] Racing bikes till the break of dawn, [D] those days now long gone.
