Backstory:
Edible Heel was formed in the heart of New Orleans in 2008. The key members, lead vocalist and guitarist Jacky ‘Peel’ Patton, bassist ‘Spice’ Macey, and drummer ‘Bite’ Carson, met while working in a high-end restaurant, where they discovered their shared passion for music and their mutual love of the city’s blues heritage. They began jamming together after hours in the restaurant’s kitchen, turning pots and pans into makeshift drum kits and using brooms as stand-in guitars and basses. When they finally saved up enough to buy real instruments, Edible Heel was born.

Their unique sound, inspired by the rhythms of the kitchen and the soul of classic blues, quickly caught the attention of the local music scene. Their funky, food-inspired lyrics, combined with their raw, soulful performance style, were a hit with both local audiences and critics alike. After winning the ‘Best New Act’ at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival in 2010, they were signed to Blue Plate Records and have since released three critically acclaimed albums.
