Queasy Plant

Backstory:

Queasy Plant was formed in the middle of a bustling thrift shop in the heart of downtown Cincinnati in the late 1990s. The core members, vocalist/guitarist Terry McGrath and keyboardist Jenny Havisham, were browsing through piles of vintage records when they struck up a conversation about their shared love of experimental music and old-school punk rock. With a sense of spontaneous rebellion, they decided to start their own band right then and there. They were soon joined by Terry’s cousin, the avant-garde drummer, Kyle McGrath, and Jenny’s childhood friend, Reggie, an eccentric bassist with a knack for melody.

Their music, controversial yet soulful, emerged as an uncategorizable concoction of punk, experimental rock, and techno, with a touch of psychedelic undertones. Their shows were much like their music – unpredictable and brimming with energy. They gained a loyal following in the local scene, their appeal lying in their raw, uncompromising sound and their relentless dedication to their craft.

“Indigo Carnival”

Full Song Lyrics:

(Verse 1)
C G D Em
Wandering through an indigo dream,
C G D Em
Facing the carnival queen,
C G D Em
In the depth of the night, it seems,
C G D Em
Everything is not what it seems.

Am D G Em
Oh, Indigo Carnival,
Am D G Em
Where dreams twist and twirl,
Am D G Em
In the depth of the night,
Am D G Em
Under the soft moonlight.

(Verse 2)
C G D Em
Cotton candy clouds in the sky,
C G D Em
In the mirror house, we lie.
C G D Em
Riding the carousel, oh so high,
C G D Em
In the indigo carnival, we fly.

(Chorus)
Am D G Em
Oh, Indigo Carnival,
Am D G Em
Where dreams twist and twirl,
Am D G Em
In the depth of the night,
Am D G Em
Under the soft moonlight.

“Queasy Plant is like a breath of fresh air in a world filled with generic pop music. Their experimental sound is unlike anything I’ve heard before. It’s like stepping into a different universe, where the rules of music are rewritten and anything can happen. The raw emotion in Terry’s voice combined with the intricate melodies and unconventional rhythm created by Jenny, Kyle, and Reggie is simply out of this world. They’re not just a band; they’re an experience, a movement. And I’m proud to be a part of it.”
