Backstory:
Blue Measure was formed by childhood friends Jack Harmon and Max Rhodes in a small garage in Austin, Texas in the late 90’s. Jack, a keyboard maestro with a flair for bluesy solos, and Max, a singer-songwriter with a distinct, soulful voice, began jamming together in high school. They discovered their shared love for blues-rock and decided to form a band. Through the years, they added bassist Lily Decker and drummer Sam Turner to the lineup, solidifying their distinctive sound. The band remains true to their roots but is willing to experiment, as evident in their eclectic discography, making them more than just a traditional blues-rock band.
Genre:
Blues Rock with elements of Alternative and Indie Rock
Title:
“Melancholy Skies”
Full song lyrics:
(Verse 1)
I’m staring at the [C]melancholy skies,
And I can see your [Am]reflection in my eyes,
Your smile, your laugh, your [F]tender goodbyes,
Now all we got left is the [G]moon to romanticize.
(Chorus)
Oh, under the [C]Melancholy Skies,
Where our love didn’t [Am]need any disguise,
We danced, we laughed and [F]reached new highs,
But now, all I got are these [G]solitary cries.
(Verse 2)
The stars are [C]fading, much like your memories,
The pain ain’t receding, it’s [Am]just a tease,
You left, leaving behind a [F]bitter-sweet breeze,
Under the Melancholy Skies, I’m [G]on my knees.
(Chorus)
Oh, under the [C]Melancholy Skies,
I see your shadow in the [Am]moon’s disguise,
Our love story, the universe [F]understands and complies,
But without you, my heart just [G]sighs.

“Blue Measure’s music is like a journey down memory lane, bringing back all the sweet and bitter moments of life. Their songs resonate deeply with my own experiences. Max’s voice is just raw emotion, and Jack’s keyboard gives a soul to every song. They’re not just a band to me, they are storytellers, painting vivid pictures with their lyrics. And let me not forget about the rhythm section. Lily and Sam are the heartbeats that give life to their music. They’re my favorite because they make music that touches your soul.”
