Backstory:
Born in the artistic heart of Seattle in 2011, Active Property is a unique blend of musicians who found each other in the thriving DIY music scene of the city. The band members, James, Pete, Kayla, and Danny, were all college friends who shared a love for indie rock and post-punk revival. While studying together, they decided to form a band as a way to vent their creative energies which eventually turned into a full-time project. Despite their different musical backgrounds, they bonded over their shared ambition to create music that leaves an impact.
Their journey started from performing in basement shows, and open mic nights to rocking the main stages at music festivals. After a decade of passionate work, they have made a name of their own in the indie music scene. Their dedication to their craft and the ability to subtly integrate social and political themes in their music has established them as a band that is more than just about the music, it’s about creating a movement.

Title: “Echoes in the Stairwell”
Song Lyrics:
Verse 1:
[G] Standing in the shadows, with my [Em] heart in my hands,
[D] Echoes in the stairwell, as she [C] joins another band.
[G] Picture frames and postcards from the [Em] edge of the world,
[D] Memories of a past life, and a [C] forgotten girl.
Chorus:
[G] Come on, come on, let’s [D] make some noise,
[Em] Trapped in echoes, we’ve still [C] got a voice.
[G] Come on, come on, let’s [D] break these walls,
[Em] With our music, we’ll [C] stand tall.
Verse 2:
[G] Strumming on the heartstrings, with an [Em] old beat-up guitar,
[D] Singing in the moonlight, under the [C] city’s distant star.
[G] Spinning tales of love and loss, with our [Em] voices in the air,
[D] We are the Active Property, we are [C] everywhere.
Chorus:
[G] Come on, come on, let’s [D] make some noise,
[Em] Trapped in echoes, we’ve still [C] got a voice.
[G] Come on, come on, let’s [D] break these walls,
[Em] With our music, we’ll [C] stand tall.
Favorite Fan:
The band’s favorite fan is Lucy Green, a graphic designer from Oregon. She discovered Active Property during one of their early basement shows and has been a dedicated follower ever since. Lucy’s testimonial reads:
“Active Property isn’t just a band to me, they’re a lifestyle. Their music has carried me through life’s highs and lows. Their lyrics resonate with my own experiences and feelings, and the energy in their performances is unmatched. I love how they seamlessly weave pressing issues into their music without losing their distinctive sound and spirit. They’re more than just a band to me, they are a beacon of hope and resilience in this chaotic world.”
