Backstory:
Any Shareholder was formed in the sleepy town of Pineville, Oregon in 2013. Best friends since high school, lead vocalist Jonny Bridges and guitarist Alex Hathaway used to jam in Alex’s garage, dreaming of making it big in the music industry. They were joined by drummer Sally Garrison and bassist Benji Kaufman, who shared their passion for music and the desire to break away from the monotony of small-town life. The band’s name is a nod to their democratic approach to creating music, with every member having an equal say in their sound and direction.
Genre: Indie Rock
Title: “Shares in Solitude”
Full Song Lyrics:
(Verse 1)
[G] Look at the world we’re living in,
[C] It’s a chaos, it’s a sin,
[Am] Amidst it all, I find solace,
[D] In you, my shares in solitude.
(Chorus)
[G] We are any shareholder,
[C] On this earth, we are bolder,
[Am] We believe in dreams, not in the decree,
[D] We are the voice of this indie spree.
(Verse 2)
[G] Through the noise, and the crowd,
[C] We play our music loud,
[Am] In your eyes, I find my peace,
[D] You are my shares in solitude.
(Chorus)
[G] We are any shareholder,
[C] Taking steps, growing older,
[Am] Creating tunes, we break free,
[D] We are the melody of this indie spree.
(Bridge)
[G] In the silence, we find our sound,
[C] With each chord, we are bound,
[Am] In your heart, I find my home,
[D] We are any shareholder, we’re not alone.
(Chorus)
[G] We are any shareholder,
[C] In this world, a little colder,
[Am] We celebrate love, not the decree,
[D] We are the rhythm of this indie spree.

Sophie adds, “Any Shareholder is my favorite band because their music speaks to me on a personal level. It’s raw, authentic, and filled with so much emotion. Every song tells a story that resonates with my own experiences. Their democratic approach is inspiring, making me feel recognized and included as a part of their journey. I can proudly say I own a ‘share’ in their music and their success.”
