Nutritious Housing

Backstory:

Nutritious Housing was born out of the fertile soil of Portland, Oregon in the mid-2000s, where the independent music scene was bustling with vibrant creativity and eco-friendly endeavors. The core members, Madeleine “Maddie” Turner (lead vocals and guitar), Thomas “Thom” Greene (bass), and Sam “Sunny” Reilly (drums), were all involved in their city’s initiative towards sustainable living. It wasn’t long before their shared passion for music and the environment brought them together.

While volunteering at a local urban farming project, Maddie, Thom, and Sunny found themselves bonding over their shared love of folk music and indie rock. They began jamming together during their breaks, using repurposed instruments. The rich, unique sound they produced resonated with their friends and volunteers, which encouraged them to take their music beyond the farm. Hence, Nutritious Housing was born, a band dedicated to creating soulful and sustainable music that everyone can grove to.
