Backstory:

Bleak Favourite was formed in the chilly autumn of 2010 in Somerset, England, by four friends who shared a mutual love for thoughtful, melancholic music. The band’s members include frontman Edward Pierce, guitarist Charlie Smith, bassist Daniel Wilson, and drummer Richard Grant. They all met in their university days, bonding over shared dreams of performing under the dim lights on a stage to an audience that connected with their music. They would often spend their nights jamming in the basement of their rented flat, creating music that echoed their love for profound lyrics woven in soulful melodies.

They gathered a local following with their intimate performances in small pubs and cafes. The band’s distinct sound, coupled with their raw, relatable lyrics, caught the attention of a regional music producer, who gave them the chance to record their first album. Their music soon resonated with a larger audience, propelling Bleak Favourite to greater heights.
