Backstory:
Bright Poet is a band that emerged from the depths of Nashville’s underground music scene, making a name for themselves through their unique blend of poetry and music. The band was formed in 2012 by high school friends Jesse Martin and Lily Thompson, who bonded over a shared love for music and poetry. Jesse, the band’s vocalist and lyricist, has always been an avid poet, while Lily, the band’s bassist, has been playing guitar since she was a child. Together, they decided to combine their talents and passion, resulting in the creation of Bright Poet. The band has since grown, both in number and in popularity, and now features drummer Sam Bennett and keyboardist Alex Taylor.
