Backstory:
Complicated Volcano rose from the ashes of the small town of Ashbourne, nestled in the heartland of America. The group was formed by four high school friends – Maxwell ‘Max’ Calloway, Adam ‘Ace’ Bolton, Riley ‘Riff’ Davis and Spencer ‘Spike’ Mathews – who shared a love for music and a dream of escaping their restricting environment. Max, a poet with a passion for deep metaphors, took on the role of the lead vocalist while Ace, the introspective brooder, played the rhythm guitar with Riff, the ever-expressive, on the drums and Spike, the quiet observer, on the bass. They began playing at local bars and events, crafting a sound that was uniquely their own, raw and unfiltered. Their shared love for music and shared experiences of growing up in a small town acted as the foundation for their lyrical themes and sonic exploration.

“Eruption of Emotion”
Full Song Lyrics:
[Intro]
Em (C) G D (x2)
[Verse 1]
Em C G D
We’re standing on the edge of an unseen divide,
Em C G D
Between the world we know and where the wild things hide.
Em C G D
A rumble deep within, a fire we can’t quell,
Em C G D
A complicated volcano, where our secrets dwell.
[Chorus]
G D
Eruption of emotion,
Em C
Caught in the notion,
G D
We’re more than what we seem,
Em C
We live, we dream.
[Verse 2]
Em C G D
Rising from the ashes, born from the flame,
Em C G D
We’re the catalysts, only ourselves to blame.
Em C G D
An explosive mix of fear, love, and silent screams,
Em C G D
A complicated volcano, bursting at the seams.
[Chorus]
G D
Eruption of emotion,
Em C
Lost in this commotion,
G D
We’re stronger than we seem,
Em C
In this waking dream.
[Outro]
Em (C) G D (x2)
We’re Complicated Volcano, hear our silent scream.
Fan Testimonial:
Samantha ‘Sam’ Brookes, an ardent fan since their first gig, feels a deep connection to the band. She says, “I love Complicated Volcano because their music speaks to me. It’s like they’ve taken my feelings and put them into words. Their song “Eruption of Emotion” resonates with me the most. The lyrical depth, the compelling chord progression, and their overall sound – it’s raw, it’s real. It’s like they’ve captured the complexity of human emotions and experiences in their music. It’s a beautifully chaotic harmony that I can’t get enough of.”
