Backstory:

Born with a shared love of music and a slightly eccentric perspective on the world, the Curvy Brain was founded in the college town of Athens, Georgia in 2008. Consisting of childhood friends, Derrick “Dex” Morley (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Simon “Sly” Johnson (lead guitar, backup vocals), Jesse “Jazz” Harper (bass, backup vocals), and Amelia “Mel” Foster (drums), Curvy Brain began as a garage band, filling the quiet suburban nights with their unique sound. They slowly carved out a niche for themselves in the local music scene, attracting a devout following with their energetic performances and original songs.

Despite their diverse backgrounds and musical influences, the bandmates found common ground in their passion for defying convention. Each member brought a different flavor to the band, creating a unique sound that refuses to be boxed into a single genre. Their music, much like a curvy brain, is anything but linear, and their creative process is as spontaneous as it is collaborative.
