Difficult Top

Backstory:

Difficult Top is a harmonious blend of four childhood friends from Lafayette, Louisiana: Peter (vocals), John (guitar), Michael (drums), and Gordon (bass). They met in a local elementary school and bonded over their shared interest in music and vintage vinyl records. Their friendship was cemented further when they discovered an old drum set, a battered guitar, and a worn-out bass in Gordon’s attic. This spontaneous discovery was the catalyst that led them to create their own music during their high school days, laying the foundation for Difficult Top.

Their initial jamming sessions were a wild mix of different musical genres, but they eventually found their sound while experimenting with old school soul and modern rock. Their unique blend resonated with the listeners, and they quickly gained a local following. The band played at several local festivals and even managed to perform at the renowned local music festival ‘Bayou Boogaloo’. Their fame caught the attention of an independent record label, who offered them a chance to record and release their music under their banner, heralding the birth of Difficult Top’s professional music journey.
