Elastic Drain

Backstory:
Founded in the heart of Seattle in 2008, Elastic Drain was the brainchild of four university friends who were studying music and found a shared passion for indie and experimental sounds. The group consisted of Jonas “Jo” Mathers on vocals and guitar, Alex “Ritz” Ritzman on bass, Sam “Sammie” Davis on drums, and Luke “Lucas” Fox on keyboards and synthesizer. Never one to be bound by any conventional norms, the band was named after a random phrase Jo’s little sister uttered while trying to explain a dream about her favorite cartoon characters.

Elastic Drain began making their mark on the Seattle music scene with their eclectic mix of genres, unorthodox song structures, and atmospheric synth-driven soundscapes. Their first demo, recorded in their little basement studio, was so well received that it led to their self-released debut album, ‘Dreams in Binary’, which went on to receive critical acclaim and a dedicated fan base.

Title:
“Neon Shadows”

Full Song Lyrics:
(Verse 1)
[Am] Draped in darkness, wrapped in light
[F] We’re just shadows of the night
[G] Swimming in the neon haze
[Em] A distorted, colorful maze

(Chorus)
[Am] In the depths of Neon Shadows
[F] We find no fear, we find no sorrows
[G] Illuminated dreams we chase
[Em] In the heart of this electric space

(Verse 2)
[Am] Absorbing the electric glow
[F] In the corners where secrets grow
[G] We’re silhouettes dancing in the dark
[Em] Painting stories, leaving our mark

(Chorus)
[Am] In the depths of Neon Shadows
[F] We find love, we find echoes
[G] Of the dreams we dared to face
[Em] In the heart of this electric space

(Outro)
[Am] So here we are, in Neon Shadows
[F] Bound by strings, broken arrows
[G] In this vibrant, endless space
[Em] We found our place, we found our grace

Bands Favorite Fan:
Our favorite fan is a girl named Jenny, who has been with us since our earliest shows in Seattle. She has attended every single one of our concerts and says that our music gave her a sense of belonging when she felt lost and alone. Jenny loves Elastic Drain because, in her words, “Their music is like a personal journey. Each song is a story that either comforts you, makes you think, or brings you into their world. Their unorthodox sound and lyrics resonate with me on a deep level. They’re more than just a band to me, they’re my safe harbor.”
