Backstory:
Empty Example surfaced from the gritty underbelly of New York’s underground music scene in 2010. The band members, consisting of brothers Adam and Scott Johnson, female drummer Reagan Dawson, and lead guitarist Milo Thompson, found each other at an open mic night at a dive bar in the East Village. The chemistry was undeniable – as if they were pieces of a musical puzzle that just fit. After spending months busking in subway stations, the foursome decided they were ready to make real music. They holed up in Dawson’s basement apartment for a year, honing their craft and their sound, emerging as the dynamic, genre-defying powerhouse – Empty Example.
